Piezotech produces P(VDF-TrFE) Ferroelectric & Piezoelectric copolymers.
Copolymer P(VDF-TrFE) resins in powder or pellet form are available upon request in following compositions : 50/50 ; 70/30 ; 77/23 % in mole (VDF/TrFE).
Ferroelectric materials like copolymer with trifluoroethylene P(VDF-TrFE) are intrinsically multifunctional.
In the copolymer with TrFE these ferroelectric structures will exhibit a Curie transition, where a phase transition between the polar ferroelectric and non-polar paraelectric phases occurs with increasing temperature.
In the poled ferroelectric phase, these copolymers exhibit relatively high piezoelectric response over a wide range of temperature depending on the compositions.
The materials may be formed directly from a melt or from cast solution, but their piezoelectric properties are strongly dependent on the annealing technique as well as on the poling process.
These piezoelectric copolymers have found a broad range of applications.P(VDF-TrFE) copolymers exhibit tailorable ferroelectric, piezoelectric and structural properties that may be superior to those of PVDF for pressure sensor and shock gauge applications.
Stability in temperature is a function of the ratio VDF /TrFE.
